Here are some fun facts about our very own Bollywood celebrity weddings!

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh

It was a sumptuous and magnificent ceremony in pure Kapoor flair, lasting nearly 20 days! Both Rishi and Neetu are alleged to have fainted on the wedding day due to a large number of people that attended the celebrations and the heavy gowns they were wearing.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai

The much-publicized wedding of Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The most costly and anticipated wedding in history was said to have hired a few helicopters merely to drop petals on the reception, which drew over 5000 attendees.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

In 2009, it was the most well-attended big large Bollywood wedding. Shilpa’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted wedding gown is said to have cost Rs 50 lakh (5 million), but her wedding jewelry is valued at Rs 3 crore (30 million). That’s a bride worth 35 million dollars! Another interesting fact: the Shetty-Kundra wedding cake had nine tiers and weighed 80 kilograms!

Vivek Oberoi and and Priyanka Alva

It was a complete luxury in and of itself. The invitation included a jewelry box containing a Mughal Ganjifa painting, chocolates, a car pass, individual invites to the various functions, directions to the venue from all five-star hotels in Bangalore, important information for outstation guests on whom to contact upon arrival in Bangalore, phone numbers, car details, and accommodation details, among other things. The invites were totally handcrafted and environmentally friendly, and each one cost around 7000 Indian rupees!

Sharmila Tagore and Mansur Ali Khan

On the wedding day, everyone wants to offer or receive the most distinctive gifts. When Sharmila Tagore married Mansur Ali Khan, a famous cricketer and Nawab of Pataudi, noted film director Satyajit Ray gave her a one-of-a-kind present. Sharmila received a 16 mm print of the feature film Apur Sansar, featuring her, as a wedding present, according to the late director’s wife’s biography. Sandip Ray, his son, reportedly suffered from back pain as a result of carrying so many film cans!

Sunil Shetty and Mana

Sunil Shetty gave his wife Mana a BMW automobile emblazoned with the words “BMW.” “BE MY WIFE,” it says on the reverse of the card.

Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin

In April 2011, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and his actress fiancée Kalki Koechlin married in Ooty, where the ceremony was held under a 100-year-old mango tree that Kalki used to climb as a youngster! That’s fantastic!

Madhur Bhandarkar and Renu Namboodri

Guests at famed Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and Renu Namboodri’s wedding in 2003 had never received a printed wedding invitation from the couple. Madhur, interestingly, invited everyone via phone calls, text messages, and in a few cases, personal invitations.
